Ida Bell “Jo” Fox, 95, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, at her home in Morristown. She attended church as long as she was able, and liked to share with others what the Lord had done for her. Jo loved playing bingo and having yard sales. She liked to sing and for many years played the guitar. She also enjoyed preparing country homecooked meals and was known for her homemade fudge and apple butter. Jo was always ready for an adventure, and even into her nineties, lived life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sudie Cantrell; husband of 56 years, Joseph Clarence "Bud" Fox; 4 brothers and 6 sisters; and sons, Edward Lynn Fox and Lonnie Joe Fox.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Rachel (Mike) Webber; Joey (Jessica) Fox; and Rebekah Fox; great grandchildren, Leanna, Phillip, Jensen, Olive, Cade, and Oaklynn; special friends, Sandy Leonard and Connie Pease; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice and Jo’s wonderful caregivers, Gina Dean, Shannon Brummitte, and Mary Jane Cady.
Jo’s body will lie in repose in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home from 2-6 PM, Monday, March 15, 2021 with service to follow at 6 PM. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, March 16 in Philippi Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulls Gap, TN.
All persons in attendance are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing.
