Imogene Hall Rutherford, 91, went to her heavenly home to be reunited with family on Wednesday January 29, 2020. Imogene was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church until the last few years when declining health kept her from attending.
Imogene was born and raised in the Swansylvania area of Jefferson county but a resident of Hamblen county since 1969. Imogene loved to be at home, swinging many of her grandchildren and reading her books. She enjoyed it when her kids and grandchildren came to visit and sit outside on the screened in porch. Her deep faith carried her through the difficult times of losing her husband Earl and her brothers in recent years.
She is survived by her son Jerry (Vickey) Rutherford of Morristown; daughters, Carolyn Cummings of Knoxville, Donna Shaver (Charlie) of Blaine, and Susan Cantwell of Morristown; brother, J.P Hall (Mabel Sue) of Morristown and sister Betty Darnell of Morristown; grandchildren, Blake (Heather) Rutherford, Adam (Cynthia) Rutherford, Jennifer Cummings, Jody Cummings, Scott (Lori) Shaver, Todd (Natalie) Shaver, Jared Cantwell and Rachael (Adam) Myers as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Regency Retirement for their care and support.
Funeral Services are planned for 7:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2020 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home with Reverends Scott Greene and David Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 prior to the service. Graveside services are planned for 11:00 am Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Swannsylvania Baptist Church Cemetery in Dandridge, TN.
