Ina Page Obituary

A woman after God’s own heart, Ina Mae Page’s love of life and family didn’t come to an end with her death.  Ina’s home going occurred on October 11, 2021, at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Her loved ones will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest in serving the one true God, Christ Jesus, her Savior and King.

Ina wore many hats during her lifetime, but the ones she was most proud of was wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Ina grew up in Rocky Gap, VA with 10 brothers and sisters.  In 1964, she married the love of her life, William Page and became a career military wife.  Although, she herself, was not in the military, Ina was Commander and Chief in her household.  She was a stay-at-home mother, caring for her children as her husband deployed to Vietnam twice and Korea.

Ina’s passion in life was serving Christ by serving others and using the talents God had given her.  She loved working in her church and participating in the choir, Vacation Bible School, and playing the piano when she could.  However, the ministry Christ had placed upon her heart was that of women’s ministry.  Ina loved coaching and guiding women in a stronger relationship in Christ.  She did this as president of Peace Free Will Baptist Women Active for Christ, serving on the Union Quarterly Women Active for Christ’s board, and establishing an annual women’s retreat to encourage, enrich and engage women in becoming more Christ like.  Simplest pleasures of life brought her the greatest joy, she loved spending time with her family and best friend Lois.  Ina and Lois spent countless hours making quilts for graduates within her church and for the 2nd Recon Battalion Association to fund raise for disabled veterans and their families.

Ina is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Page; children, Sonda (Tim) Finley, Bryan (Andrea) Page, and Sabrina Page; nieces, Eva Derr and Candy Cone; grandchildren, Stephen, Eric, David (Tonya), Justin, Chris (Allison), Sam (Nikki), Cassidy and Julian; great-grandchildren, Riley, Nathan, and Abigail.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Peace Free Will Baptist Church with receiving from 1:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service.  A private graveside service is scheduled for Monday, October 18, 2021, in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Peace Free Will Baptist Women Active for Christ ministry or the 2nd Recon Battalion Association.
