Jackie “Jack” W. Cope, 78, went to be with the Lord at his home in Morristown, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, where he often led singing. Jack served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Mahle after 21 years of service.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Pearl Cope; wife, Jean Cope; sister, Norma Smith; brothers Casey Cope, Bill Cope, and Jim Cope.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Judy Cope; children, Darlene Smith of the home; step-daughters, Regina (Randy) Snearly of Ellicott City, MD, Brenda Proctor of Millboro, DE, Donna (Phillip) Sellars, Lynna (Kevin) Hixon; step-son, Charlie Smith; special granddaughters, Amy (Chris) Urban of Ellicott City, MD and Kailee Hixon; special grandson, Tucker Hixon; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Imogene Green; brother, Johnny Cope.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm Thursday, December 26, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm with Reverends David Rutherford and Randy Brooks officiating. Military graveside services will be held 11:00am Friday, December 27, 2024, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery in Morristown.
