James Thomas “Tommy” Drinnon, age 78, of Morristown, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 21, 2024. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a Hamblen County Civil Servant throughout his life. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed farming, horses, and loving his grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of Calvue Baptist Church.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Pearl Drinnon; brothers, Johnny Drinnon and Mackie Drinnon; sister, Nancy McCravey; brothers-in-law, Reverend Lee Seals, Bud McCravey, and Bobby McGhee, and his mother-in-law, Bessie McGhee.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; children, Jayma Drinnon, Robyn Pinkston, and Tommie Lee Sanchez; son-in-law, Jason (Samantha) Sanchez; brother, Danny (Marie) Drinnon; sisters, Billie Seals and Margaret (Dean) Cope; grandchildren, Elijah Drinnon, Caleb Franklin, Andie (Wesley) Russell, Madison Pinkston, Kensley Stork, Ethan, Payton, and Isabella Sanchez; sisters-in-law, Susie Drinnon, Linda Bradley and Thelma McGhee; brothers-in-law, Eddie McGhee and Tommy McGhee. Tommy loved his nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 PM, with Rev. James Seal and Rev. Travis Bowden officiating. A military service will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery, 53 Memorial Ave. Mountain Home, TN 37684, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2 PM.
