James Edward Long

James Edward Long, 77, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024. He was the owner/operator of Long’s Car Shop. Building many award winning classic cars during his career. James was an avid local racecar enthusiast, assisting many drivers including Paul “ The Ghost” Gose.

He is preceded in death by his parents Morris H. and Anna Ruth Long; sister, Agnes Hill; and brothers, Heiskell Long and Arnold Long.

James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole (Harbin) Long; two sisters, Helen Bible and Cindy (Billy) Helton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Hamblen Memory Gardens, with Billy Helton officiating.
