James Alden Fitzwater

James Fitzwater, 87, went to his heavenly home after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was a member of Cedar Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greeneville but attended Manley, Morningside, and Hillcrest Baptist Churches.

Over the years he worked for Magnavox in Greeneville, Electro-Voice in Sevierville, and retired from Custom Printing in Morristown. He was an avid golfer and played all the courses in East TN and several in WV. He loved Bluegrass music and traveled to the concerts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Stella Fitzwater of Clay, WV; brothers, Curtis, Byrom, and Charles Fitzwater; and sisters, Elsie Friend and Nina Barnes.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jeanette “Jean” Fitzwater; daughters, Julia Everett, Judith (Randy) Finchum, and Marsha (Jeff) O’Brient; stepdaughters, Kathy Ayer and Lettie (Jon) Shelton; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and brother Versal (Sharon) Fitzwater.

James is being cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Boys and Girls Club in his memory would be appreciated.
