James “Jim” Crittenden, 84, of Russellville, passed away at his home Wednesday, April 14, 2021 with his family by his side. James was saved March 8, 2015 at Free Spirit Baptist Church where he loved to attend when he was able to go. Jim was a farmer and worked at Hale brothers.
James was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Dana and Lennie Dell Crittenden, son Jimmy Crittenden, brother Junior Crittenden; and two sisters Kathleen Spurgeon and Reba Nell Westmoreland.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vatris Crittenden; five daughters, Tiffany Crittenden, Teshia (Shaun) Turner, Debbie (Keith) Cantwell, Trish Manning and Sharon “Lulu” Bishop (Frankie); two sons, Trevor Crittenden, Terry (Pat) Crittenden; three brothers, Gary “Cotton” (Brenda) Crittenden, Robert “Tub” (Joann) Crittenden, Bobby Joe (Linda) Crittenden; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A big shout out to neighbors, church family and Amedisys Hospice group.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral prior to the funeral service at 4:00pm with Reverends J. J. Harris and Shaun Turner officiating. Graveside services are planned for 11:30 am Monday, April 19, 2021 in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Per CDC guidelines, all in attendance are asked to practice social distancing and wear facial coverings.
