Jane D. "Scotty" Gravelle, 87, passed away on November 3, 2023, in Morristown, TN. Born in Shotts, Scotland on January 23, 1936, she was the youngest housemaid for Queen Elizabeth II at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. In 1953, Jane immigrated to the United States at the age of seventeen.
Throughout her life she worked as a bookkeeper, cocktail waitress, and also owned her own business, "Scotty’s” Pet Grooming". Scotty was a world traveler who loved to experience new things and meet new people, making friends in many different countries. Of all the places she visited going home to Scotland was always her favorite. Scotty loved spending time with her dog Baily who she spent many days with watching the cardinals visit outside her window.
Scotty is preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Agnes (Nicol) Clelland; brothers Arthur and Bob Clelland; husband of 34 years, Robert Gravelle, and son Craig R. Gandy.
Scotty is survived by her son John (Leann) Gandy and daughter, Deborah "Deb" Staken, stepsons Bob Gravelle (Christine) and Rod Gravelle and stepdaughter Shirley Gravelle; grandchildren, Chad Gandy, Jason Thurmond, Heather Thurmond, Ashley Blair, Scott Gandy, Tracy Kliner, Shawn Gandy, Eric Gandy, Tasha Meier, Anthony Keever, Philip, Keever, Mike Keever and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Papago Park, #Ramada South, 1000 N. College Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281. Memorial gifts and flowers for the Celebration of Life service should be sent to 2826 S. Fairway Drive, Tempe, AZ, 85282.
