Jean Anne (Day) Smith, age 83, went peacefully home to the arms of Jesus and the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Sacred Ground Hospice House in Knoxville, TN. She was a lifelong resident of Morristown, TN.
She was born March 4, 1941, to Leonard and Nettie Pearl (Thomas) Day, whom she has now joined in that beautiful city, Heaven. She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Guy James Smith; her daughter, Anita (Robert) Wilkerson; her grandson, Lukas Wilkerson; and granddaughter, Shelby Wilkerson. She also leaves her sister, Patsy (Phil) Wright; nephew, Jeffrey (Pamela) Wright; nieces, Angela (Tim) Hill and Annette "Annie" Wright; as well as grandnieces and a grandnephew.
At an early age, Jean Anne accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was very grounded in her faith. She was selfless and gave freely to all who knew her.
A receiving of friends and family will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5-7PM, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home in Morristown, TN. A celebration of her life will be immediately after, at 7PM with Dr. Kenny Boling officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hamblen Memory Gardens 10AM, Friday, October 18, 2024.

You ran the race set out before you. You are now resting in the arms of our loving Father. You finished well.
