Jenny L. Crittenden, 81, of Whitesburg, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. She attended Whitesburg Baptist Church. Jenny retired from TRW Rogersville, then worked several years for the Hamblen County School System as a substitute teacher. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Junior Crittenden; parents, Robert and Lucille Shipley; son, Keith Crittenden; sisters, Christine Marshall, Priscilla Rich, Charlotte Allen; brothers, Wayne and Jim Shipley; and great grandson, Paxton Crittenden-Hayes.
She is survived by her daughters; Tracy Ewing, Sheila (Jack) Asbury and son, Tommy Crittenden; grandchildren, Shawn (Christy) Asbury, Brandy (Jared) Snowden, Lindsi Asbury, Jordy (Keri) Crittenden, Seth (Cynthia) Ewing, Audrey (Garrett) Brewster, Jessica Ewing, and Rebecca (Tyler) Trent; sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thank you to Kindred Home Health; her nurse, Debbie Kosley, her sitter, Becky Smith and daughter-in-law, Melissa Keaton as well as Avalon Hospice.
Funeral services are planned for 7:00 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home with Steve Keaton and grandson Seth Ewing presiding. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 prior to the service. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, January 21, 2022, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
