Jewelle K. Shockley, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Friends of Hospice Serenity House in Morristown. She was a saved as a young child at Fox Branch Baptist Church and was a long-time and faithful member of Westview Baptist Church. In her later years, she was a member of Roe Junction Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and her flower gardens, but she loved her family; and was always proud to be a wife, a mother, and "Mamaw" to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy E. Shockley; parents, B. and Ida (Johnson) Kinsler; brothers, Waylon, Coba, Clifford, Jasper, Hobert and Ray; sisters, Odessa, Ella, Calvie, Mary and Euna.
She is survived by her sons, Michael A. (Mitzi) Shockley and David W. Shockley; daughter, Sandra L. (Tony) Hodge; grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Shockley, Cindy Shockley, Matt (Carrie) Hodge, Codie (Caleb) Whaley, Colby Shockley, and Tyler McMahan; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7PM, with Rev. Tom Wells and Rev. Barry Warren officiating. Graveside services will be held 10AM, Wednesday, November 13, at Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
