Jimmie Leah Spitler, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 30th, 2025, at her home in Morristown, TN. Born on November 2, 1944, in Pennington Gap, VA, Jimmie built a life rooted in love, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends.
She began her family in Xenia, OH, before moving to Morristown, TN in 1981 with her husband, Ronald Spitler, and their children. Jimmie was a hard worker, spending many years as a beautician in Xenia. After moving to Morristown, she worked at Western Sizzlin and Davy Crockett Restaurant. She had a warm heart, a sharp wit, and a knack for making those around her feel special.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her lifelong partner of 55 years, Ronald Spitler; her parents, Lester and Hazel Cody; and her siblings, Glenn Cody, Sue Croley, and Bernard Cody.
She is survived by her loving children, Beth Kinsler and Jeffery Spitler; her cherished grandchildren, Allison Knight, Matthew Spitler, Jacob Kinsler, Sammy Spitler, Dakota Lane; and a future great-granddaughter. Her dear sister, Judy Eaton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends who were blessed to know her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Allen Funeral Home in Morristown, TN, on Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be followed by the funeral service from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jimmie will be laid to rest the following day, Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Hamblen Memory Gardens, at 11:00 a.m.
She will be dearly missed, but her love and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those she touched.
