Jimmy Don Swatsell

Jimmy Don Swatsell, 72, of Morristown, went home Sunday, October 8, 2023, at UT Medical Center.

He was a well-known musician in East Tennessee and the Southwest Virginia area. He enjoyed playing the bass/ doghouse bass and guitar.

Preceded in death by son, David Lynn Swatsell; parents, James William and Mary Elizabeth Swatsell; sister, Mary Ann Swatsell; and brother, Michael Lynn “Mickey” Swatsell.

Survivors include his significant other of 16 years, Gladys Goins; Teresa (Aaron) Hubbard; Angela Ray Swatsell; Carrie (Will) Hicks; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and nieces, Katherine Swatsell and Sarah Swatsell.

Family will have a Celebration of Life for Jimmy Don on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 11am-1pm. It will be held at Mt. Vale Church of God, 1330 East Dumplin Valley Road, Jefferson City, TN 37760.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allen Funeral Home for final expenses.
