John Louis Glasscock

John L. Glasscock of Bulls Gap, went to his heavenly home on May 1, 2023.  He was 79 years old.

He was a member of Bulls Gap Baptist Church and attended Big Springs Baptist Church. John enjoyed restoring antique cars, building street rods and wood working. He was a 50-year member of the Bulls Gap Masonic Lodge.  John served in the Tennessee National Guard and was retired from TRW of Rogersville with 25 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Donald Banks, sisters, Claudia Doud, Sandra Bell, and Janet McIntosh, and mother and father-in-law, Maggie and John Cockreham.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Glasscock; brother, McDonald (Sandy) Banks, Jr.; brother-in-law, Dennis McIntosh, and several nieces and nephews.

Special people to John were Tashia and Zaeden Tucker, Stacey Bowman, Chris McCamey, Karen Wright, UT Hospice caregivers, CNA Angie Reed and RN Sarah Johns.

The family will receive friends at Allen Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  Graveside services will be Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hamblen Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Long officiating.
