Joyce D Bunch

Joyce Dean Bunch, age 80, peacefully passed at home to meet the Lord, Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Charles “Tom” Bunch; her parents, Margie and Harrison Jarningan; and siblings, Clure, Elm, and Marie. 

Joyce was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church of Morristown, TN and served as pianist, organist, and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. Joyce was a singer, taught piano lessons, and studied to be a music teacher at WSCC. Joyce was a member, vice president, and president of the state and local Crewette Emergency and Rescue Squad Team, 1965-1981. Joyce was the owner of LaBoe Salon of Morristown, making people beautiful for over 30 years.

Her family would like to thank everyone for support and care during this time. They are grateful to the Ivy family, Thomas family, Ruthie, Patsy, Carolyn, Ginger, Missi, Debbie, LaBoe Crew, Amedisys Hospice Care, and so many others for the love shown to Joyce.

Joyce leaves a legacy of joy, kindness and love unsurpassed in the spirit of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Friday, October 6, 2023, at Morningside Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 7 pm, with Rev. Ross Woody and Rev. Dr. Kenny Boling officiating.  Interment will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund.  Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
