Joyce “Joy” Land Stansell, 75, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord July 17, 2023, after a brief illness. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, was an active member of the PEO National Women’s Organization, and former member of the GFWC Lady’s Reading Circle. She loved supporting U.T. Football and various Lakeway Area Art’s programs, but especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 35 years, Leonard D. Stansell; and parents, James Lee (Hazel) Land and Lula Mae “Bobbye” Land.
She is survived by her sons, Travis (Destiny) Stansell and Jason Stansell; grandchildren, Ilona Parker Stansell, Noah Stansell, Colin Stansell, and Jackson Woods; brother, Dan (Cheryl) Land; niece, Anna Land; nephew, Ryan (Jessie) Land; and great-niece, Aurelia Land; along with many other dear family members.
The family will receive friends from 4-5 PM, Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Trinity Methodist Church in Morristown. A Celebration of Joy’s life will be held at 5 PM, following the visitation, with Pastor Ben Shoun officiating.
