Kathy A. (Russell) Short

Kathy A. Russell Short, 73, of Morristown, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She attended Lighthouse Baptist Church until declining health prevented her attendance. She was a kind and gentle soul, known for her quite strength and warm heart. Kathy loved to cook and found joy in preparing meals that brought her family together. Always thinking of others before herself, she lived a life of compassion, care, and love.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Minnie Everhart Russell; daughter, Melissa Russell; three sisters; and one brother.

Kathy is survived by sons, James Russell and John (Sandra) Russell, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 PM.  Graveside services will be held in Kirkpatrick Cemetery in Hawkins County, TN immediately after the service.
