Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” Jesse Buchanan, age 88, passed away peacefully September 5, 2023, at his home. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma Jean Bunch Buchanan; his father Millard Buchanan; his mother and stepfather Lorene and Guston Bussell; his brothers Eddie Bussell, Joe Bussell, Lynn Bussell, and Steven Bussell; sister-in-law Betty Bunch Drinnon; brother-in-law Johnny Drinnon.       

Ken is survived by his special nephew & wife Alan and Susan Drinnon; special great-niece Danyelle (Daniel) Williams; special great-nephew Ridge (Emily) Drinnon; special great-great nieces, Dakota, Dawson, and Eliana;  his brothers Henley (Gladys) Bussell, Paul (Gloria) Bussell, and Bob (Donna) Bussell; sisters, Dorothy (Ed) Rudd and Darlene (Randy) Gregg; sister-in-law, Rolena Bussell; and Steven’s companion Mary Knight; several other nieces and nephews; as well as many other special relatives and friends.  

The family would like to thank the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice of Kingsport for all the loving care they provided for Kenneth, and for the love and support they provided to Alan and Susan. 

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, at 1 PM at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
