Lowell Melvin Carty, Sr., 88, of Morristown, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024. He retired from Purkey, Carter, Compton, Swann & Carter Certified Public Accountants, after 15 years of service. He was a square dancer for the “Cloverleafs” in Morristown and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Hazel Carty, and brother, Bill Carty.
Survivors include his son, Melvin Carty of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Deborah Davidson of Chattanooga, TN; several grandchildren; sister Loretta Carty and brother, Mac Carty.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 5 PM, with Rev. Dannie Bell officiating. Interment will be held, 2 PM, Monday, February 5, 2024, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
