Lowell E. Mills

Lowell E. Mills, age 87, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Life Care Center in Morristown. He was a member of Union Baptist Church of Hancock County and attended Trinity Methodist Church of Morristown. Lowell was a United States Army Veteran.                                                                       

Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ollie Mills; brothers, Wayne (Doris) Mills and Darce (Betsy) Mills; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine (Dean) Lawson; brothers-in-law, Joe Purkey and Donnie Purkey; and first wife, Betty Jo Carroll Mills.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Mills; daughter, Terri (David) Stansberry; granddaughter, Morgan (Tyler) Bamburg; grandson, Dalton Stansberry; two great grandchildren, Kellen and Ivy Bamburg; brother, Carl (Connie) Mills; brother-in-law, Doyle (Annetha) Purkey; sister-in-law, Betty Purkey; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM, on Monday, December 22, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A procession to Hamblen Memory Gardens will be held immediately following the visitation, with graveside services to be held by Pastors Stacy Lawson (nephew) and Doug Silvers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Jubilee Project, 197 Jockey Street, Sneedville, TN 37869.
