Lydia Fay Lynch, age 66, born on September 3, 1958, departed from this life on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at home in the Mulberry Gap community of Sneedville, TN. Lydia was formerly of the Whitesburg community. She was saved at an early age and a member of Mount View Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Lydia was retired from Old Dominion Freight in White Pine, TN. She loved to go hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all being Danny’s wing lady while racing. She loved life and never met a stranger. She fought a great fight, but cancer won the battle. She would sit on the front porch watching her hummingbird’s and enjoy the different views daily, while she was able.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Myrtle Davis and sister, Judy Helton.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Lynch of Sneedville, TN; daughters, Tracey (David) Roach of Rutledge, TN and Lana (Dwight) Dixon of Whitesburg, TN; step son, Danny Austin (Judy) Lynch of Sneedville TN; brothers, Roger (Missy) Davis of Morristown, TN, Danny (Pam) Helton of Whitesburg, TN, and Dewayne (Pat) Helton of Morristown, TN; sister, Lisa Hatfield; mother-in-law, Fay Lynch of Tazewell, TN; sister-in-law, Kathy (Don) Gibson of Sneedville, TN; grandchild, Riley Roach of Rutledge, TN; two little girls that she called her adopted grandkids, Zoey Trent and Zaylee Bales; special niece, Monica Bales of Sneedville, TN; and nephew, Gregory Fawbush.
Lydia wanted to send a special thank you to Danny and Kathy for all the hours they dedicated to taking care of her. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Hancock Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice in Morristown.
Per Lydia’s request there will be a private family viewing with family and close friends that cared enough to come visit during the time of her sickness. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM, on Monday, January 6, 2025, in the Lynch Cemetery located at the home in the Mulberry Gap community of Sneedville, TN, with Rev. Charles Roberts officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Curtis Spradling, Lynn Royston, Charles Bishop, Jeff Bishop, and Billy Bishop. Honorary pallbearers include Vince Morgan and Austin Lynch.
