Martha Neikirk Evans, 83, of Morristown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of November 5, 2025.
Born in Middlesboro, KY on September 26, 1942, to Robert and Nelle Neikirk. Martha married her sweetheart, Benny Evans, in 1969 and together they shared 34 years of marriage. A devoted member to Cherokee Heights Baptist Church, she served faithfully for years in the Women On Mission ministry, the choir, and serving the shut ins. Martha’s gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and joyful laughter touched everyone she met. She always had a spirit-filled word of encouragement for everyone she met.
Martha lived her life by the words of Proverbs 31:30, “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised,” seeking His guidance in all she did. She finished her race with faith and grace (2 Timothy 4:7), rejoicing in the Lord always and encouraging those around her to do the same (Philippians 4:4).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny, and her parents, Robert and Nelle Neikirk. She is survived by her children, Scott (Kay) Loftin, Heather (Richard) Knight, Jason Evans; four loving grandchildren (Lauren, Mason, Logan and Madison) and a great-grandson (Liam) all of whom she diligently poured into with faith and love.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home. A celebration of a life well lived will follow at 7 PM, with Pastor Ken Cole and Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Graveside services will be held 12 Noon, Monday, November 10, 2025, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice for all of their kindness and care.
To know Martha was to know God’s love and grace. Her faith was her foundation, and the family left behind celebrates with her as she goes into Glory, looking ahead to their reunion with her one day. To those who mourn, she would say, “My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever,” (Psalm 73:26) and “my soul rejoices in my God,” (Isaiah 61:10). Well done, good and faithful servant.
