Mary Ellen (Helton) Acuff

Mary Ellen Acuff, 87, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at The Heritage Center.  She was a member of Hubert’s Chapel Baptist Church and will be fondly remembered as “Mudder”. 

She was preceded in death by parents, William Jefferson and Myrtle Russell Helton; brothers, Reaford and Walter Helton; sisters, Margaret Horner and Christine Worley. 

She is survived by son, David Michael (Lisa) Acuff and brother, Grant (Linda) Helton; grandsons, Craig and Anthony Acuff; granddaughter, Sonya Acuff; great -grandchildren, Mesha, Izaiha, Ansley and Sophia Acuff; special nephew and care giver, Herbert Horner and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00pm Friday, December 17, 2021, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Terry Greene officiating.  Interment will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
