Mary Lynn (Tharp) Hurst Jarmusz

Mary Lynn Hurst Jarmusz, 92, of Morristown, passed from this life May 18, 2023, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital surrounded by family.  She was born March 6, 1931, in Morristown.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Denver Ray Hurst in 1997 and by her second husband Joseph Francis Jarmusz in 2022.  She was the daughter of the late John Edward (JE) Tharp and the late Cleo Della Beckner Tharp of Russellville.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ray Tharp of Morristown and a stepson Mike Jarmusz of Jefferson City.

Mary Lynn is survived by a sister, Georgia Gregg; daughters, Diana Black of Morristown, TN and Kathy (Eddie) Miller of Fernley, NV; six grandchildren, Lora (Rob) Hamilton, Eric (Tina) Black, both of Morristown, TN; Brian (Kristi) Black of Calabash, NC; Chris (Monica) Miller of Fallon, NV; Tim (Tracy) Miller and Angie (Thomas) Magiera of Fernley, NV; eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by stepchildren Joann of New Market, TN; Diane of Buffalo, NY; Donna of OH, and Tony Jarmusz of Jefferson City, TN.

Mary Lynn was a retired Magnavox employee of years ago.  She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Morristown.  She loved flowers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm Monday, May 22, 2023, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the memorial service at 7:00 pm.  Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
