Michael T. Skidmore, 73, left the helm and ventured to the Heavens on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his home in Morristown, after a brief illness. He was an officer for the Police Department in Augusta, Michigan. Michael was also a life longer manager in the retail industry. After retiring, he and his wife also served as standardized patients for Lincoln Memorial University.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Amelia Skidmore; three sisters; and one brother.
Michael is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diana Skidmore; children, Randy (Heather) Skidmore, James (Sarah) Skidmore, Jennifer Garrett, and Jeff (Kerry) Vander Roest; grandchildren, Porter and Laiken Skidmore, Morgan (Derrick) Brown, Kyler and Bo Skidmore, Hannah, Harrison, and Haley Garrett, and Claire and Eden Vander Roest; great granddaughter, Mia Brown; sister, Kathy Cronkite; son-in-law, Ron Garrett; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery, with Chaplin Dennis Slack officiating.
