Muriel "Murl" (Rickard) Collins

Muriel “Murl” Rickard Collins, age 83, of Morristown, passed away to her Heavenly home February 17, 2024. 

She proclaimed to be a follower of Jesus.  In her younger years she attended Pleasant Ridge Church, Community Chapel and Mt. Vale.  When her health allowed, she enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife (especially birds), sewing, and drawing.  She loved her family beyond measure.

Murial was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Collins; parents, Dan J. and Vera Phagan Rickard; sister, Patsy Morrisett; brothers-in-law, Wayne Collins, Ray Wilder, R.L. Hux, Bud Morrisett, Ken White, and sister-in-law, Brenda Rickard.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny (Rick) Tolliver, Nicky (Shannon) Pillion, and son, Jason (Bethany McGuire) Collins; grandchildren, Skyler Coffey, Hannah Tolliver, Abby Tolliver, Ashlyn Pillion, Emma Pillion, Kacey Pillion, and Ozlo Collins; brothers, David (Hazel) Rickard, Clyde Rickard, Roy Rickard, and Keith (Lonna) Rickard, sisters, Joyce Hux, June Wilder, and Linda White; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Hubert) Shannon.  Special family members, Velma Orrick and Christine Elkins.  Several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 7:00 pm with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating.  Graveside services are planned for 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
