Omer Ernest Perryman, 96, of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025.
Born September 27, 1929, in Sevier County at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains, Omer was one of seven and his upbringing in the Tennessee hills shaped his character and work ethic throughout his life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Field Artillery during the Korean Conflict.
Following his military service, Omer built a distinguished career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, working his way through the ranks to become a successful franchisee, operating three tire stores across East Tennessee. Known as an honest and shrewd businessman, he believed in doing things the right way and treating people fairly—principles that earned him respect throughout the community.
Omer was deeply committed to Morristown and the surrounding region. He served on the Board of Directors of the Morristown Chamber of Commerce and was an early investor and board member of the Citizens Tribune newspaper. He was a former president of the Rotary Club and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
An avid sportsman, Omer enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting. He was a devoted University of Tennessee fan and loved spending time with his friends and family. He cherished traveling all over the world with his wife and family.
Omer was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Euvella Nave Perryman. He is survived by his daughter, LeeAnn Lee; son-in-law, Robert Lee; grandson, Chase Lee and his wife Alex; and great-granddaughters, Delaney and Sloane Lee.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1 PM, in Shiloh Memorial Cemetery, with Dr. Darris Doyal officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the "Friends of the Smokies".
