Patricia Kay Horner Wells, “Patty,” 54, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home in Morristown. She was a registered nurse for several years, serving in various capacities, including home health care and hospice care. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bean Station. Patty cared about helping the downtrodden and less fortunate people. In her later years, she had big dreams of providing help for the suffering. This compassion grew out of her faith in Christ and experiencing forgiveness and help in her own life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Gearlene Horner, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Patty is survived by her sons, Clint (Emily) Sawyer, Jacob (Lara) Sawyer, and Wesley (Riley) Wells; grandchildren, Kylie Sawyer, Leland Sawyer, Elijah Wells, along with one more grandchild on the way; sisters, Beth (Craig) Smith and Charlene (Robert) Wolfe; aunt, Mitzi Edmonds; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family is especially grateful for her devoted caretakers, Keith Long and Vickie Sawyer, whose love and support brought her comfort in her final days. Patty was also blessed with many friends who stood by her side and helped her along the way, offering encouragement, prayer, and practical support through both joyful and difficult times.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Monday, June 2, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Abundant Hope Ministries,AHMTN.org.
