Paul John Hyde, Jr., 61, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his residence. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and was the Executive Director of the Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Paul was a gifted musician who sang southern gospel music and was a vocalist in many quartets including Redemptions Promise, the Florida Boys, and the Blackwoods. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed restoring antique trucks. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul John Hyde, Sr.; sisters, Lisa Marie Hyde and Ann Elizabeth Hyde; grandparents, Myrtle and Hue Davis and Bill and Katherine Hyde.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Testerman Hyde; children, Leslie (Larry) Scott; Maddy (Taylor) Hyde-Price; step-daugher, Hannah (Nick) Nichols-Evans; grandchildren, Bailey Evans, Kayleigh Evans, Russell Evans, Jacob Scott, and Makayla Scott; mother, Elizabeth Davis-Hyde; brother, Kenneth Hyde; sister, Theresa “Terri” (Todd) Hodgson; special friend and “red haired step-brother”, Mickey Derry; several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Thursday, December 15, 2022, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 PM, with Rev. Doug Brown and Rev. Vic Trobaugh officiating. Interment and Marine Corps. Funeral Honors will be held 1PM, Friday, December 16, 2022, in Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN.
