Randle “Facky-Boo” Self, 69, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home in Morristown after a brief illness. He was saved and baptized as a teenager in Franklin, NC and recommitted his life to Christ later in life. He retired from Harrison Construction/ Old Castle after over 50 years of service. He loved dirt track racing and raced for over 10 years. He was awarded fan favorite thunder/ lightening class at Tazewell Motor Speedway. Randle also enjoyed fishing, working on cars, riding motorcycles, and especially watching NASCAR. He loved to spend time with his family.
Randle is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Charles and Earlie A. Self; and sisters, Christy Self Cody and Robin Self.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy Self; sons, Chris (Brenna) Self and Adam Self; grandchildren, Caleb and Natalie Self; sisters, Teresa Yount and Phyllis (Jim) Bates; brothers, Ricky (Cindy) Haynes, Dennis Self, Marty Self, Floyd (Carolyn) Self, and Terry (Janice) Self; stepmother, Betty Self; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tim and Kim Stroud, Brandy Weems, Brooke Roberts, Dot Barnes, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, Covenant Health, Rita and Robert DuBois for all of their care and support, as well as all of those who have prayed for Randle and his family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 7 PM, with Pastor Russell Stewart officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Sunderland Cemetery.
