Rev. Lee Seal Obituary

Rev. Lee J. Seal, 87, of Morristown, passed away on January 18, 2024, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born in Ellicott City, Maryland on July 6, 1936. Lee was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked at NCR for 10 years, also worked at Berkline, then retired in 2002

Lee dedicated his life to serving others and spreading the word of God. At the tender age of 9 years old, he found his faith and was saved at Trent’s Valley Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he served as a pastor of 14 churches in Hamblen and Cocke Counties. He had the privilege of serving at West View Baptist Church and Calvue Missionary Baptist Church twice. Lee found great joy in leading others to Christ. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, and his commitment to spreading the love of God. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Edith Seal; brothers, Darrel Seal and Clifford Seal; sister, Grace Seal; nephews, Steve and Danny Seal; nieces and nephews, Billie and Beth Everhart, Rebekah and Kim McCravey; his in-laws, Mack and Pearl Drinnon; brother-in-law’s, Johnny and Macky Drinnon; and sister-in-law, Nancy McCravey. 

Lee is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 68 years, Billie Seal. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised a loving family. He is also survived by his son, Rev. James (Gail) Seal and his daughter, Shelia (Bert) Lakins. Lee leaves behind cherished memories for: his grandchildren, Aaron (Beth) Seal, Amanda Gardner, Lee (Megan) Lakins, and Eric (Rachel) Lakins; his great grandchildren, Hailey and Alyssa Seal, Connor Gardener, Daniel and Miles Lakins, and Judah and Naomi Lakins, all who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sister, Lois (Lonnie) Burnett; brother-in-law’s, Danny (Marie) Drinnon and Tommy (Carolyn) Drinnon; and, sister-in-law, Margaret (Dean) Cope. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and all his friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Calvue Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 7 PM, with Rev. Barry Warren and Rev. Travis Bowden officiating. Interment will be held at 1 PM, Friday, January 26, 2024, in Emma Jarnigan Cemetery.
