Richard James Dixon, Sr.

Richard James Dixon Sr., born November 28, 1944, passed peacefully June 22, 2025, and is rejoicing with his family, golf and fishing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Dixon and mother Catherine Forgey Dixon; siblings Wayne, Cynthia, Harlan, David; and niece Whitney.

Richard is survived by his wife, Janis; son, Ritchie (Sara), and granddaughters, Brenna and Cady; also, his extended family, Keven Wiley (Candi) and grands, Sebastian and Haley.

As a pharmacist and owner of Sneedville Pharmacy and Dixon Drugs, he never forgot a name or face of his many customers and considered them part of his family.

His family would like to thank the staff of Smoky Mountain Health and Hospice (in particular his caregiver Shirley) and his besties Herb, Dave, and Joe for their care.

A private family service will be held Friday, June 27 at 4 pm.  Afterwards friends are welcome to visit at his home from 5:30-7:30 at Autumn Trace #31 to share memories of his life.
