Rita Marie (Bowlin Brooks) Smith

Rita Marie Bowlin Brooks Smith passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Mary Bowlin; two infant brothers; and special friend, Sandra Sharp.

Rita is survived by Dale Smith of the home; daughter, Kelly Brooks; special son, Ryan Collins (Kenzie); granddaughter, Layla; step daughter, Leah Kiefer of Akron, OH; sisters, Shirley Gibson, Mae (Tim) Luttrell, Patsy Bowlin, and Kathy (Tim) Lamb; a host of nieces, great nieces, and great nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System and the Heritage Center.

The family will receive friends from 3 – 4:30 PM, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4:30 PM, with Rev. Johnny Carr officiating.

Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
