Robert Harold Sawyer

Robert Harold “Bob” Sawyer, 77, passed away April 15, 2025, at the Heritage Center in Morristown.  He was a member of Green’s Chapel Church and was a longtime Women’s Softball Umpire for the Morristown Parks and Recreation Commission. He also loved attending and watching Dirt Track Racing. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Sawyer; his parents, J. B. and Mayme Sawyer; and brother Steve Sawyer. 

He is survived a son, Bobby (Misty) Sawyer; daughter, Christy (Joe) Romo; grandchildren, Kip (Whitney) Sawyer, Brook (Daniel) Neal, and Alex Smith; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vickie Sawyer, Shelvie (Gene) Hicks, Shirley (Pat) Turner; brother, David (Diane) Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Friday, April 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home with Chaplin Ben Chitwood officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service.  Procession and interment will follow the funeral service in Emma Jarnagin Cemetery.
