Robert “Bob” L. Wilder, 78, of Morristown went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Bob was saved at Northside Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon from 1987 to present. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1960 – 1964 and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2002. He loved his family unconditionally. He was a man full of faith that loved God and taught his family the right way. Bob was a kind and gentle soul who would give you his last dime. He had the sweetest smile and was always so patient and loving. He loved old cars and drawing cartoons. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Grant and Myrtle Wilder.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Imogene; daughters, Sherry (Wally) Frye and Debbie (Dewayne) Young; grandchildren, Becky McBee (Kamron), Alanna McBee (Nick), and Jairus Johns; great-grandchildren, Liam and soon to arrive, Leighton.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health for the care and compassion shown to him.
Private graveside services are planned in Noe’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Morristown with Lonnie Dalton and Terry Winstead officiating.
