Ronald Flockhart Obituary

Ronald Lee Flockhart was born in Boone, IA on February 12, 1932 and died June 21, 2020.   He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jewel Flockhart of Boone, IA and his brother, Larry Flockhart, of Stratford, IA.  

He is survived by his wife, Kay C. Flockhart of Morristown; son, Gary and wife Lorraine of Terryville, CT; daughter, Calista Kay Flockhart and husband Harrison Ford, of Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, Dodie Flockhart of Stratford, IA; brother-in-law, Jay Honohan and wife Nancy of Iowa City, IA; three grandchildren, Steven Krampitz and wife Veronica of Bristol, CT; Jessica Dorau and husband George Piche’ of Terryville, CT; and Liam Flockhart Ford of Los Angeles, CA.  He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Tyler Krampitz, Trevor Dorau, Kylie Dorau, Ali Dorau, Bruce Craighill and Bayleigh Craighill; two nephews, Trent Flockhart of Stanhope, IA with children, Kelsey and Jacie; Jay Honohan III of Iowa City, IA; and niece, Valerie Ruth and husband John of Cumberland Hills, IL with children, Ethan and Jaelynn.

He was a graduate of Boone High School, Boone, IA in 1951 and Iowa State University in 1957.  He married Kay Calista Honohan in 1957.

He worked for Kraft Foods in Toulon, IL during his college years.  In 1957, he worked for Hygrade Foods Company in Shelbyville, IL, then worked for Kraft Foods in Stockton IL, Melrose and Albany, MN, Norwich, NY and Philadelphia, PA.  He was plant manager in Albany, MN and Norwich, NY.

During his tenure with Kraft, he worked in three different divisions.  He was in Kraft Foods Central Division in Toulon and Stockton, IL, Melrose, MN and Albany MN, then in Norwich, NY, he worked for Sheffield, Kraft’s Industrial Division.  In Philadelphia, PA, he worked for the Kraft Dairy Group as Director of Quality Assurance and Environmental Control.  He retired from Kraft Foods in 1987.  He then worked for Sorrento Cheese Company in Buffalo, NY, as Vice President of Quality and Environmental Control.

He and his wife retired to Morristown, TN in 1995 where they have been active in the Morristown Theatre Guild and First United Methodist Church.

Private funeral services were held in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home, Morristown, TN.  Comital services and interment were in Hamblen Memory Gardens, Morristown, TN. Reverend Walter Weikel officiated the services.
