Ronald J. Fox departed this life early in the morning of January 22, 2021 at his home. He was the only child of Butch and Darlene Fox of Hamburg, Illinois.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Patsy, who adored him, children, Kevin Michael Fox of Mozier, Illinois, Robby and Brandy Cloninger of Morristown, grandchildren, Shelly Johnson and Stone Fox of Illinois, Kyle and Hudson Cloninger who he loved to the moon and back, seven precious great grandchildren of Illinois, loving sister-in-law and brothers-in-law of Morristown and special friends and family in Calhoun County, Illinois.
Ron was employed for 34 years at Roadway, a company he loved, Dollywood, where he made many friends and Manley School where he was known for his whistling in the halls. He was affectionately known as Grandpa in the community as his favorite pastime was watching all of his kids play the sports he loved so much. Ron was honored with a special award at Union Heights called the Ron Fox Award that is given out annually to a student athlete who shows excellent sportsmanship. He was also recognized for his volunteer work at Union Heights, reading with the children there. Many teams considered Ron their 6th man because of the support he showed to the kids. Though Ron wasn’t from this area, he originally moved here to be near the mountains and while here made many friends that he dearly loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor Saturday, January 30th at 12:00 on the grounds of Union Heights. All friends and family are invited to come and share a memory of Ron. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
