Rose Ann Naber was born in Illinois at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, April 15, 1955.
Rose grew up in Marinwood, San Rafael, CA from 1959 to 2020. Rose followed her daughter,
son-in-law, and grandchildren to East Tennessee in August of 2020. Rose passed from this life on
Thursday, February 1st, after a tragic car accident. She was 68 years young.
Rose was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Naber; her mother, Frances; her brothers, Paul,
Phillip, and William; and her sister, Millie. Rose is survived by her sister, Veronica (Morgan); her
daughter, Stephani Gard (Brian); by her Neice, Megan Morgan; and by her three grandchildren,
Kyleigh, Savannah, and Gavin.
The Naber family was well known throughout Marin County for their neighborly nature. Rose
followed in her father’s footsteps and began a career with the County of Marin in 1979, working
in the Tax Collector/Assessor’s Office. Rose retired in 2005 as a Senior Accountant Assistant. In
retirement, she focused on spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and “working when
she wanted to.” Rose was excited to leave California and move to East Tennessee. She fell in
love with the Smoky Mountains, how sincere and neighborly everyone is here, and how many
she met were dedicated to a relationship with Christ.
Rose’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering at Russellville
Baptist Church, camping, fly fishing, telling stories about her grandchildren, and visiting with
friends at the Morristown VFW or Elks Lodge. Rose’s smile will be missed by all who loved her.
Her memorial service will be held at her church, Russellville Baptist, 2:30 p.m., Sunday,
February 11th, located at 444 Cedar Creek Rd, Russellville, TN. In lieu of flowers, please send
memorial donations in Rose’s name to her church.
