Roy Douglas Summerson

Roy D. Summerson, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at his home in Morristown. He served in the U.S. Airforce, Navy, Army, National Guard, and retired from the U.S. Army after over 28 years of service. He also retired from Lear seating after over 20 years of service. Roy was an avid golfer.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Summerson; infant daughter, Connie Sue Summerson; mother, Pauline Venable; and two sisters.

Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Melody Summerson; children, Tammy Colley, Tracey Summerson, Stacey (Josh Bales) Kearney, Carlos (Tasha) Summerson, Marcos Summerson; grandchildren, Matthew, Cory, Danielle, Isabelle, Connie, Jacob, and Austin; four brothers; and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM – 7 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Interment and Military Funeral Honors will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Hamblen Memory Gardens and Mausoleum.
