Ruth M. Ramsey, 95, passed at the home of her son, Joe, June 28, 2020. Beloved member of the Morristown community, she along with husband Frank and later Joe operated Ramsey’s Farm Market for many years. Prior to this she was a teacher’s aide and assistant librarian for the Hamblen Co School System. A faithful member of First Baptist Church for 74 years, she served in the nursery, Sunday School and TV ministries, as well as on countless committees.
She lived out her faith every day, always ready with a smile and word of encouragement. Famous for her green beans, any time a covered dish was required everyone knew what Ruth would bring.
Preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin and son, Robert Franklin Ramsey; father, Berry McMahan, mother, Miley Jane (Greene), sister, Leona Pendley, brothers, Cleo, Mitchell and Ted McMahan, special cousin Roy Campbell, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Survived by son, Joseph G. Ramsey (Jo Ann), grandchildren Rachel Brubaker (Zach), Joseph Ryan Ramsey, great-granddaughter Gemma Brubaker, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private graveside service was held at Emma Jarnagin Cemetery. Dean Haun and Danny Georges officiated the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry or the Daily Bread Community Kitchen. Many thanks to Covenant Home Healthcare and Hospice.
Wife, Mother, Mother in Law, Aunt, Mamaw, Great Grandma, Business Woman, Friend. Many titles befit this woman.
