Sarah "SJ" Julia (Daniel) Walton

Sarah Julia (SJ) Walton passed peacefully Wednesday, August 9th at her home surrounded by family… to touch the face of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Sarah was a loving and dedicated wife and mother throughout her life, she had compassion, strength and honor.  Sarah was a lifelong member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church in Morristown where she taught Sunday school and served on the decorating and historical committees throughout her life.  

Sarah retired from AT&T after 40 years of dedicated service as a telephone operator.  After retiring from AT&T  Sarah remained a life long member of the AT&T Pioneers. (an organization for former employees of AT&T)  Later, Sarah welcomed customers with a smile at Rusty Wallace Cadillac/GMC/Kia as a door greeter.  She loved all of her jobs and made many friends along the way.  Her beautiful smile, blue eyes and loving personality will be forever missed by all.  

Sarah’s hobbies included traveling, exercising, shopping, gardening, bowling and volunteering at her church.                           

Sarah was preceeded in death by her husband Max P. (Doc) Walton.  Sarah and Max had a wonderful, devoted and faithful marriage of over 48 years.  A marriage anyone would be blessed to have and everyone hopes for.   Also, preceeding Sarah in death were her parents Fitzhugh and Mollie Daniel.  Sisters: Frankie Tate(George), Bertha Tate(O.D.) and Mollie Simmons(Delmar), brother Rev. Robert Daniel(Effie), nephew Stacy Seal.  

Survivors include her loving son Chris and her grand dog Lucky.  Sister Charlsie Seal(Dwayne),  nieces: Linda Holt(Kenneth),  Betty Davis(Mike), Vonda Wolfe(Carl),  Shirlene Davis(Jim), Kathy Greene(Phil),  Tina Wilson(Dennis), Tammy Holt(Ricky). 

All friends and family are welcomed to attend funeral services Sunday, August 13th at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church in Morristown. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm.  Funeral service will begin at 7pm.  Pastor Dean Haun of First Baptist Church Morristown is officiating.   

Sarah will be laid to eternal rest along side her loving husband Max at Hamblen Memorial Gardens Monday, August 14th at 11am  (Christus section)
