Shirley Ann Conklin Ball, 74, of Morristown went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved quilting, reading, and children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edsel “Hoyt” Ball; parents, Oscar and Iona Conklin of Maryville.
She enjoyed talking with her tenants at Ball’s Mobile Home Park. She graduated from Carson Newman College in 1983 with a degree in early child development. She worked as a substitute teacher for almost 20 years.
Shirley is survived by her 4 children: Debbie Parsons (Jeff), Mark Parsons-Woolf (Matthew), Lori Rash (Matt), and Cynthia Ball Pettit (Brian). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Candice (Matt), Jessica, Landon, Kylie, Michael, Jacob, Sophia, Anna, Brianna, Megan, and Owen; 3 great-grandchildren, Travis, Madelynn, and Hadlee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are planned for 11:00 am Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Hamblen Memory Gardens with Reverend Ray Longenecker officiating. All persons in attendance are required to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing.
