Stella Grace Medlin McGinnis, 93, passed away early Monday morning, January 29, 2024, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital.
Grace and her husband were the owners of Reliable TV Service and Sales in Morristown for over 25 years. Both she and her husband were noted genealogist and published historians here in East Tennessee. Grace was a founding member of the Hamblen County Genealogy Society. She served in all offices at various times and was the Editor of the Hamblen Heritage for over 30 years. She also enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the Hamblen County Archive since shortly after its inception. Grace loved all things historical and was an avid collector and seller of antiques for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clarence (Johnny) McGinnis; parents, Roy F. and Grace Easly Medlin; brother, W. Keith Medlin; and brother-in-law, Thomas R. Frierson.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Darlene McGinnis of Morristown and Janice McGinnis of Oak Ridge; sister, Ann Medlin Frierson of Morristown; and sister-in-law, Judy McGinnis Harrell of Morristown.
The family is also grateful to special friends, Cindy and Tony Lane, Penny Beam, Margaret Guinn, and Vicky and Larry Snowden.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Allen Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Bethesda Cemetery with John Allen officiating.
