Steve Stiltner, 91, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by family, after a brief illness. He was a longtime member of Rocky Summit Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station, TN. He worked as a coal miner in Virginia and West Virginia for over 38 years and moved to Morristown after retirement. He loved to work and garden.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Stella Stiltner; three brothers; one sister; son, Ronald Steve Stiltner; and son-in-law, Jackie Mahon.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Stiltner; children, Kenneth (Agnes) Stiltner, Alicia Mahon, and Sandy (Ronald) Newsome; grandchildren, La Tasha, Ken, Christy, Keshia, and Courtney; great grandchildren, Alli, Jacob, Bowen, Caroline, Collin, Addalynn, and Tatum; great-great granddaughter, Ellis; sister, Faye DeBord; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of U.T. Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 6-8PM, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home, with Rev. David Marshall and Rev. Phil Hopkins officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 1PM, in Stiltner Cemetery of East Lynn, WV.
