Theodore "Ted" (Yank) Kramer

January 3, 1930 ~ December 20, 2020 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Theodore Kramer Obituary

Theodore (Ted) Kramer,90, well-known on local lakes as “The Yank”, left this world peacefully from his home in Morristown, TN with his wife of 40 years at his side, Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Born January 3, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, Ted was the youngest son of Pearl and Samuel Kramer, who preceded him in death.  Ted was also preceded in death by his brother, Seymour “Sy” Kramer.

Ted is survived by his wife, Ann Beard Kramer; son, Jim (Tanya) Kramer of Jefferson City; daughter, Amanda Kramer of Newport; stepdaughter, Laura Lowell of Morristown.  Also surviving are nephew, Scott Kramer; nieces, Randi (Andy) Redash, and Patti Spaeth, all of Jupiter, FL; cousins, Betsy (Marc) Siegelaub and Marjorie (Chuck) Schaeffer of New York, and many friends who shared his love of fishing, sailing and laughter.  

 

After serving in the Air Force and graduating from Karpelle School of Dental Technology, Ted moved to Tennessee, opening Ted Kramer Dental Lab in the late 1960’s.  As a technician, Ted was well-respected in the dental industry, well known for his innovative works in cosmetic dentistry.

After his retirement in1995, Ted continued to pursue his love for sailing and fishing on Douglas and Cherokee Lakes.  He also thoroughly enjoyed long road trips with Ann to Alaska, Nova Scotia and The Grand Canyon.

The family wishes to extend thanks to the professional care and support received from Interim Health Care and Avalon Hospice and to good neighbors Mary and David Stepp.  

Due to concerns for all regarding COVID19, there will be no formal funeral service.   Private burial with only immediate family in attendance will be 2:00pm Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Dover Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Ginger Isom officiating.
