Thomas Edward Carrier, 52, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was born on November 18, 1972, in Greene County, Tennessee. A 1991 graduate of Greeneville High School, he was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. During his career, Tom worked as a route salesman for various beverage and snack distributors throughout the Lakeway Area.
He was the son of the late Norman and Charlotte Carrier of Greeneville, Tennessee. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Fannie Carrier, and Edward and Margaret Carrier, all of Bluff City.
Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, Heather Lindsey Carrier; his son, Benjamin Thomas Carrier; his brother, Tim (Angie) Carrier of Greeneville, Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Sandra Ricker of Russellville, Tennessee; his sister-in-law, Shyla Prentice of Russellville; nieces Jessica (Dustin) Brown and Meagan (Tad) Norton of Greeneville, Tennessee; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews. Special friends, considered nieces and nephews, include Braden, Cydney, and Cooper Owen, and Ella Williams.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care, support, and kindness shown to Tom at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. A special thanks goes to Dr. Wahid Hanna, Dr. Renju Raj, Dr. Kelly McCaul, Brittany Wright, FNP, Marie Mattus, NP, the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Team, and all the staff of 5 West. Additional thanks to the staff at Amedisys for making Tom’s final days comfortable.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Morningside Baptist Church in Morristown, Tennessee, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m., with Dr. Kenny Boling officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
