Vera Frances (Hipshire) Rines

Vera Rines, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at her home.  She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed the missions of the United Methodist Women.  She was retired from Suntrust Bank after 30 plus years of service.  She was a member of the Eastern Star for 64 years; charter member of the Crewettes, (Rescue Squad) and was also active in the Family and Community Education Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Elmer E. Rines; parents Robert “Bob” and Jewell Hipshire, and sister Blanche “Cookie” Hipshire.  

She is survived by her children Linda (Mike) Brewer, Greg Rines, Doug Rines; grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Walker; Chris (Kelly) Brewer, Sherri (Ron) Williams, Nolan Rines, Hannah Ward, Samantha Rines and Sarah Kate Rines; eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and her caregivers, Linda Bowlin and Shelia Wisecarver for all their care and support.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 6:30pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist Church.  A private funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Reverend Mike Cutshaw officiating.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 18, 2020 in Emma Jarnagin Cemetery.
