It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda Sue Dreher announces her passing on Monday, December 15, 2025. Loved and greatly missed by her family, children, Brett (Donna) Meade, Deanna (Steve) Gravelle, and Denise (Tony) Ryan; stepdaughter, Lisa (Miguel) Serna; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Don; parents, Garland and Myrtle Johnson; brother, Clayton Johnson; and sister, Linda Johnson.
Wanda was born in Hartley, Kentucky, on March 31, 1941. She had a great work ethic and growing up in Long Fork, Kentucky could often be found helping her parents in the family store and garden. After retirement from the Zimmer Company in Florida, she and Don moved to Tennessee where she continued to enjoy gardening, sewing, reading, and being spoiled by her husband. Most days she could be found thinking about where she wanted to travel to, or in her yard working on her landscaping and figuring out where one more plant or flower could be planted. She was feisty, full of energy, and had a great sense of humor. She loved dearly and she was dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to a local veteran’s charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive from 6 – 6:30 PM, on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 PM. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
