Waymon D. Harrell, 84, of Bulls Gap, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aprill 3, 2025, at U.T. Medical Center. He was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church Bulls Gap. Waymon retired from Coca-Cola after 33 years of service. He also drove for Flowers Bakery, Lakeway Trucking, and EPES Transport Systems. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant in TN Army National Guard. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County.
Waymon is preceded in death by his parents, Olon and Edith Harrell; brother, Vernon Harrell; nephews, Jeffery Harrell and Terry Knight; brother-in-law, Gorman Lipe; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Harrell; brother and sister-in-law, Melba and Ed Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Harrell; daughter, Ronda Harrell; grandson, Jesse Harrell; sister, Unav Lipe; brothers, James “Mousey” (Orpha) Harrell and Glen “Rooster” Harrell; nephew, Danny Knight; niece, Vickie Mabe; as well as several other nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Bulls Gap.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM, with Rev. Jesse Harrell and Rev. Ira Ginn officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Tieke Cemetery of Bulls Gap, TN.
